Learnership Implementation: As a SETA accredited training provider we can assist organisations to implement learnerships that in turn can improve their competitiveness by earning additional points on the BEE scorecard that are reserved for learnership training.
Tax Rebates, save on Tax
Organisations that pay SDL and that partner with us can benefit through various tax incentive mechanisms such as:
Employment Tax Incentive: ETI is an incentive aimed at encouraging employers to employ young work seekers. It reduces the employer’s costs of hiring young people through a cost-sharing mechanism with government, by allowing the employer to reduce the amount of PAYE payable while leaving the salary received by the employee unaffected.
Tax Rebates on Learnerships: Learnerships carry tax incentives and grants to make them more financially attractive. SETAs offer cash grants for learnerships and the government offers companies tax incentives participating in learnerships. Village Tech can show you how to structure all your training in such a way that will allow your company to take full advantage of this benefit and many others!
Section 12H of the Income Tax Act allows an employer to claim a deduction for registered learnership agreements. The Amendment Act has extended the learnership allowance to all agreements entered into before 31 March 2022.
In order to target this incentive to training learners without basic to intermediate qualifications, the value of the allowances has been revised as follows:
- For learners with qualifications in NQF level 1 to 6, the incentive increased from R30 000 to R40 000
- For learners with a disability the allowance increased from R50 000 to R60 000;
- For learners with qualifications in NQF Level 7 or higher, the incentives have been decreased from R30 000 to R20 000.
- For learners with a disability the allowance remained at R50 000 for NQF level 7 or higher.
The purpose of the Employment Equity Act is to achieve equity in the workplace by promoting equal opportunity and fair treatment in employment through the elimination of unfair discrimination and implementing affirmative action measures to redress the disadvantages in employment experienced by designated groups, in order to ensure equitable representation in all occupational categories and levels in the workforce. Training of previously advantaged group of individuals can assist employers to honour and achieve the objectives of the EE Act.
